A journey of faith through time "praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number
day by day those who were being saved."
ACTS 2:47
In November 1992, approximately 35 individuals started a local church in Egaleo, led by Dimitris Lekkas.
This church was later named the “Christian Church of Athens.” In the beginning, the meetings were held in a small warehouse.
Our first church space was located at 14 Armodiou Street in the center of Athens. Within five years, the congregation grew to 150 adults.
The Lord revealed himself to us in a new way. He removed traditional elements and brought us into an active faith and a purposeful relationship with Him.
Since 1995, we have been experiencing a significant move of the the Lord in which the Holy Spirit has moved among us with signs and wonders. This period marked profound changes in people’s hearts as the Lord built His testimony within us in a way we had not experienced before.
In 1998, we moved to a new building at 7-9 Dipylou Street, in Koumoundourou Square, which also signified a change in our spiritual space. The Lord increased the influence of our church in the world and within the church community.
In 2016, due to numerical growth, we began holding two services on Sundays. This was a great blessing as believers stepped into their calling and new deacons began to serve.
In 2020, the legal form and name of our church changed to “Christian Charismatic Church Religious Legal Entity,” offering more opportunities for the growth and existence of our church in relation to the state. The second service acquired a distinct identity, becoming international with translation from the pulpit, and a third service began every Saturday evening.
The message of the Gospel via the internet has been widely accepted and has opened doors of communication in many new areas outside of Athens. There is a great need to build up the believers, and the Lord led us to start the “Biblical School of Spiritual Life and Ministry” in 2022, which has blessed us and brought us into fellowship with the rest of the body of Christ, both inside and outside Greece. In 2023, the Apostolic Ministry of the Gospel began in various areas of Greece and Cyprus.
As the Lord multiplies our work, we envision Him granting us spaces where we can develop more ministry and fulfill His plans.
